MCP Group Showcases Drug Discovery Workshop at XI Festa de la Ciència, UB

On May 30, 2025, the University of Barcelona hosted the XI Festa de la Ciència at its Historic Building, offering a vibrant platform for researchers to engage with the public and share their scientific endeavors. This annual event featured a diverse array of workshops and activities aimed at making science accessible and engaging for audiences of all ages.

The Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology (MCP) group actively participated by organizing an interactive workshop focused on the drug discovery process. Attendees had the opportunity to delve into the stages of drug development, from target identification to lead optimization, through hands-on activities and demonstrations. The workshop aimed to demystify the complexities of pharmaceutical research and highlight its impact on healthcare advancements.

The MCP workshop was a collaborative effort featuring contributions from several dedicated researchers: Dr. Sandra Codony, Celia Escriche, Marc Granje, Dr. Anna Sampietro, Dr. Ana Mallo-Abreu, Dr. Oulduz Ghashghaei and Fernando Romero.

Their collective expertise provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of medicinal chemistry and its role in developing new therapeutics.
