On March 17th and 24th some students from Institut Daina Isard (Olesa de Montserrat) i Escola Pia Balmes (Barcelona) visited us in order to attend the research dissemination workshop regarding the discovery of drugs and some advances from our project PID2020-118127RB-I00 (from Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación and Agencia Estatal de Investigación) entitled “Synthesis of compounds with innovative mechanisms of action against neurodegenerative diseases and neuropathic pain”. This second edition was entitled “Drug discovery – Advancing towards the efficient treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and neuropathic pain 2023”.
It was organised in three different seminars:
- Seminar 1: Drugs and drug discovery – Prof. Diego Muñoz-Torrero (March 17th) and Javier Sánchez (March 24th).
- Seminar 2: Recent advances in the development of drugs against neurodegenerative diseases and neuropathic pain – Noemí Martínez (March 17th and 24th).
- Seminar 3: Preparation of a drug candidate: a practical example – Anna Sampietro (March 17th and 24th).
The activity finished with a guided visit to our laboratory, organised by four members of Prof. Diego Muñoz-Torrero’s group (postdoctoral researcher Dr. Ana Mallo-Abreu and the PhD students Noemí Martínez, Anna Sampietro and Javier Sánchez).
