The works on display show only a small sample of the Miquel Porter i Moix Collection, an extensive set of materials drawn from the fields of theatre, music, film and film preservation, which reflect the great breadth of sociocultural activities pursued by Miquel Porter, a lecturer and professor in the Department of History of Art at the University of Barcelona. The Miquel Porter i Moix Collection, which was donated to the University of Barcelona by Porter’s family, opens an expansive window onto the hard work undertaken to preserve and promote Catalan culture in the last twenty-five years of the Franco dictatorship and during the period of democratic transition that followed.
