in Analytic Philosophy

I graduated in Philosophy in 2018 at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Donostia, San Sebastian. In 2020 I completed the Aphil MA at the University of Barcelona (UB), where I defended my final thesis done under the supervision of Professor Esa Diaz-Leon. In that work, I defended the viability of a novel form of species essentialism based on the notion of informationally connected property clusters.

From 2022 to 2025, I was an FPI (PID2020-119588GB-I00) predoctoral researcher at LOGOS, University of Barcelona, where I worked on my doctoral dissertation under the supervision of Professors Esa Diaz-Leon and Manuel Garcia-Carpintero. In fall 2024, I underwent a three month research stay at the Eidos Centre for Metaphysics at the University of Geneva, under the supervision of Professor Fabrice Correia. I also served as the elected representative of LOGOS PhD students from 2023 to 2025.

In the fall of 2025, I successfully defended my thesis, 'Searching for Structure: An Inquiry into Metaphysical Grounding', in which I argued for the relevance and usefulness of grounding in contemporary metaphysical research. My doctoral work also engaged with issues concerning the metaphysical structure of reality, the nature of metaphysical explanation, and the actual applicability of grounding to particular philosophical debates.

As a professional philosopher, I'm most interested in questions concerning the fields of metaphysics and meta-metaphysics. I'm an ardent defender of the view that metaphysics is a serious discipline worth engaging with, which, if done with care, can be of greater utility in illuminating central and transversal questions for all of philosophy. Beyond this, I hold all sorts of philosophical interests including philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, aesthetics, metaethics, and metaphilosophy.

Philosophy aside, I am what you might call a geek. I spend most of my free time watching horror movies, being a dungeon master, playing Magic: the gathering, and enjoying video games as well as all kinds of obscure music.
