En 2009, tras su formaci\u00f3n postdoctoral en el grupo de Robert J. Fletterick en colaboraci\u00f3n con John D. Baxter en la UCSF (San Francisco, California), se incorpor\u00f3 al Instituto de Biomedicina de la Universidad de Barcelona (IBUB) y al Departamento de Bioqu\u00edmica y Biomedicina Molecular en la Facultad de Biolog\u00eda de la Universidad de Barcelona como l\u00edder de grupo de investigaci\u00f3n Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en los determinantes estructurales y moleculares responsables de las funciones de los receptores nucleares como la uni\u00f3n de ligandos, el reconocimiento de correguladores y sus acciones fisiopatol\u00f3gicas en c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata y cerebro. Su trabajo ha demostrado la relevancia del desarrollo de moduladores alost\u00e9ricos de receptores nucleares, habiendo identificado los primeros bolsillos alost\u00e9ricos susceptibles de f\u00e1rmaco sobre estos factores de transcripci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como la resoluci\u00f3n de primeras estructuras cristalinas de d\u00edmeros no can\u00f3nicos de los receptores de andr\u00f3genos,
