Ana Paredes Garc\u00eda, predoctoral researcher in Dr. Mercedes Ricote’s group <\/a>(CNIC), has received the first prize from the Lilly Foundation for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, for her thesis: \u201cUnderstanding the role of Retinoid X Receptors in cardiac homeostasis: from transcription to physiology\u201d, carried out in the Nuclear Receptor Signaling laboratory of the Carlos III National Cardiovascular Research Center Foundation (CNIC) in Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury, formed by the Admissions Commission of the SEBBM<\/a>, has awarded a first prize and two second prizes in the IV Edition of the Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology sponsored by the Lilly Foundation<\/a>, in recognition of the initiation work to the research career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two second prizes went to Elena Moreno Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong> for the thesis \u201cAdult hippocampal neurogenesis process in the human species. Alteration of the integration of new granule neurons in pathological conditions\u201d carried out at the \u201cSevero Ochoa\u201d Molecular Biology Center (CSIC-UAM) in Madrid and for Mar\u00eda Crespo Ruiz-Cabello<\/strong> for the thesis \u201cThe role of immune system in liver pathophysiology\u201d , carried out at the Carlos III National Cardiovascular Research Center (CNIC), Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
