Plasticitat neural en malalties neurològiques i neuropsiquiàtriques IP: Albert Giralt Torroella

Presentació

El grup del Dr. Giralt està interessat en tres línies d’investigació repartides en tres malalties neurològiques diferents però compartint un punt en comú, l’estudi de la funció de l’hipocamp en condicions basals i patològiques. Així doncs, les tres línies d’investigació són:

  1. La caracterització de nous factors de risc genètics en la malaltia d'Alzheimer i estudi de noves estratègies de teràpia gènica i farmacològica en models de rosegadors. Estudi focalitzat en la regió cerebral anomenada hipocamp. 
  2. Caracterització de la formació d’engrames neuronals en models murins de depressió induïts per l’estrès crònic. Estudi focalitzat en la regió cerebral anomenada hipocamp . 
  3. Investigació sobre nous factors de risc (genètics i ambientals) en esquizofrènia utilitzant models murins. Estudi focalitzat en la regió cerebral anomenada hipocamp.
