The Department of Economics (Economic Theory section) at Universitat de Barcelona is inviting expressions of interest for an Assistant Professor position in Macroeconomics. It is a five-year contract starting around summer 2024.
The application process has two phases:
- The international call, expected to be in MARCH 2023, consists of applying for the AQU Catalunya accreditation of “tenure-eligible lecturer”. For information about the criteria to get this accreditation: https://www.aqu.cat/en/teaching-staff/Assessment-of-the-teaching-staff/Report-for-tenure-track-lecturer/Criteria. At least two publications are necessary to obtain a positive evaluation.
- The UB call is expected to be in October 2023. There is an international committee to select the candidate. The contract is expected to start around the summer of 2024. The second phase requires having the accreditation from phase 1.
At the end of the 5-year Assistant Professor contract, one can become an Associate Professor conditional on a positive evaluation from the Department.
The Economic Theory section is part of the Department of Economics at the Universitat de Barcelona. Our research interests encompass the areas of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, including economic theory and applied economics approaches. The research environment is collaborative and friendly. Most of the section's researchers belong to the BEAT Institute and the UB School of Economics.
