The GRIAL research group is organizing a Workshop on Factuality that will take place in a hybrid format, hosting people both virtually and in person at the University of Barcelona on June 8th. Detailed information about the workshop can be found at www.tagfactworkshop.wordpress.com.

The workshop aims to create a forum to discuss different topics related to the subject of factuality, which covers aspects such as degrees of certainty, veridicality and subjectivity.

The discussion will focus on the field of journalism, especially on verification and fact-checking, which are directly involved in the detection of fake news. Thus, the content of the presentations will mainly address the issue of factuality in journalistic texts in the digital media and in textual content in social networks, both from a linguistic perspective and from the point of view of Natural Language Processing (NLP).
