The UB promotes inclusion through sport with another successful edition of the Congress on Physical Education and Inclusive Sport
This year's edition was a complete success in terms of participation: 242 attendees enjoyed conferences, round tables, workshops, and presentations organized by UB for the third consecutive year together with the ONAT Foundation and the FECPC.
Once again, the Mundet Campus of the University of Barcelona hosted the Congress on Physical Education and Inclusive Sport. The third edition, held on April 3 and 4, featured the participation of:

Mr. Abel Garcia, Secretary General for Sport and Physical Activity of the Ministry.

Mr. Francesc Colomé, President of the ONAT Foundation.

Ms. Silvia Burset, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Barcelona.

Ms. Iolanda Moragues, Head of the Department for Dependency and Social Vulnerability at the Barcelona Provincial Council.

Ms. Carme Bastida, Director of the Catalan Sports Council.
The subject of Inclusive Physical Education at the University of Barcelona is a pioneer in training future teachers in the field of sports inclusion. This 3rd Congress on Physical Education and Inclusive Sport contributed to raising awareness within the educational community about the need to create inclusive spaces, foster social debate, and promote good practices in physical activity, physical education, and sports. Events like this aim to reduce inequalities, promote healthy living, support inclusive and quality education, and foster gender equality.
The opening conference of the Congress was given by Carla Casals, a Paralympic swimmer for 20 years, winner of 22 world medals, 8 European Championship medals, multiple world records, and participant in three Paralympic Games.
The Congress featured three round tables:
Round Table 1: Sport and Inclusion in Childhood. Moderated by Mr. David Boleda. Participants included Ms. Ester Morillas (Barça Foundation), Ms. Sandra Surís (President of the Invincibles for Inclusion Association), and Ms. Marta Noguera (Pedagogical and Sports Director of CN Barcelona).
Round Table 2: Sport and Inclusion in Adolescence. Moderated by Mr. Carlos Yepes. Speakers included Mr. Manel Algeciras (Coach of RCD Espanyol Special), Mr. Abel Rojo (Head of Sports at the City Council of Cornellà), and Ms. Sylvana Mestres (Founder of Play and Train).
Round Table 3: Sport and Inclusion in Adulthood. Moderated by Mr. Miguel Ángel Torralba. Participants included Ms. Rosalia Lázaro (Paralympic athlete), Ms. Mariona Corbella (President of the Esportsalus Foundation), and Mr. Carles Millera (Coach at CN Sabadell).
In addition to the round tables, five workshops were held:
Workshop 1: Inclusive Dance with Sandra Jurado (Mediantladanza) and students from the Sport and Play course of the Social Education Degree.
Workshop 2: Inclusive Football with Sandra Surís (Invincibles for Inclusion Association).
Workshop 3: Boccia for All with Ingrid Lafuente (AFAPAC-FECPC) and students from the Master's Degree in Education and Physical Activity.
Workshop 4: Play & Train Association.
Workshop 5: 43 IncluCims (ONAT Foundation).
Five presentations were also delivered, and the event concluded with a keynote speech by Anna Gilabert (wheelchair tennis player).
The entire event was presented and hosted by Alberto Montenegro (journalist and communicator).
The University of Barcelona remains committed to training future primary education teachers in inclusive sport through the 3rd Congress on Physical Education and Inclusive Sport, in collaboration with the ONAT Foundation.
