The week before starting each semester, we will do the Welcome days. During these days you will have a meeting with your tutor at the UB and you will attend welcome sessions and informative seminars regarding the different aspects of your stay at the Faculty of Education .

Tuesday, September 4
- Academic Affairs Session
Time: 10:00 – 11:00 (online via Zoom)
Mandatory for all international students
Led by Dr. Mihaela Vancea and Dr. Martina Kieling.
Focus: Academic matters related to the beginning of your stay.
Monday, September 8

Welcome Session
Time: 10:00 – 10:10
Location: Sala de Graus Rosa Roig, Migdia I Building (in person)
Opening remarks by the Vice Dean and Head of International Relations. -
Catalonia: A Bird’s View & Campus Tour
Time: 10:10 – 12:10
Location: Same as above
Overview of Catalan culture, politics, and education, followed by a guided campus tour. -
Taste & Talk: Welcome Gathering
Time: 12:30 – 13:30
Location: Claustre, Llevant Building
Informal gathering with traditional Catalan food and social interaction.

Survival Catalan
Location: Palau de les Heures, Room 13 (in person)
Group 1 (English speakers): 10:00 – 10:45
Group 2 (Spanish speakers): 10:45 – 11:30
Basic Catalan for everyday university life, grouped by Spanish proficiency level. -
Stay Connected to UB
Location: CRAI Mundet – Library (in person)
Meet at the library lobby at 11:50
Session: 12:00 – 13:00
Introduction to UB’s digital platforms and services. Bring your laptop.

- A Bird’s View of Barcelona – Waterway Promenade
Time: 9:00
Route: From Llevant Building (Mundet Campus) to Plaça Kennedy
A 2–3 hour nature walk with views of Barcelona and Mediterranean vegetation.
Voluntary activity open to all international students.
Recommendations: Wear comfortable shoes, light clothing, bring water and snacks, and apply sunscreen.
