The master's degree in Health Care and Collaborative Practice is designed to provide health sciences graduates with advanced skills, techniques and methodologies relating to health services. The comprehensive, integrated and multidisciplinary programme will give students the skills to provide quality healthcare services built on collaborative practice between professionals.

Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to:

  • achieve excellence in healthcare and multidisciplinary patient management;

  • research and communicate the results of developments in collaborative practice among healthcare professionals;

  • enrol in a doctoral programme, if desired, and achieve excellence in the preparation of a doctoral thesis;

  • pursue a career in quality, ethical research, in the areas of primary care, hospital or home care, at universities or in research centres.

The master's programme addresses new healthcare needs, such as population ageing, rising incidence of chronic disease, polypharmacy and the iatrogenic risks of medication, diseases resulting from unhealthy lifestyles, addictions, the impact of stressors arising from socio-economic crises and changes to health services models focused on cost-effectiveness.
Teaching for the master's degree draws on the participation of professionals from primary healthcare centres and hospitals in Catalonia, the Universitat dels Pacients, the Spanish Society of Community Pharmacy (SEFAC), the Spanish Society of Nephrology and the Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation. The course also enjoys the support of the Catalan Ministry of Health and various leading professional organizations in the field.
