Production and Artistic Research

Course curriculum

Master

The first course program starts in February, in afternoon & evening schedule.

It is hardly recommended by Master Coordination; Student should enrol and pass 1rst course 30 credits in order to deal with 2nd course credits.

 

- COMMON COURSE -

FEBRUARY: Reception of students and oral presentations of artistic work of students for two consecutive sessions (with the assistance of the entire teaching staff).

FEBRUARY / JUNE: Theoric lectures by the Master professors, supplemented by guest lecturers sessions. Dedication of students performing creative work and consecutive review of the work through tutorials organized into three groups of teachers.

JUNE: Presentation and defense by the students, the entire team of teachers, state of the art work in the workshops of the Faculty, which must be accompanied by a written statement on the same memory.

 

Subjects:

 

5 cr.- Transfers and displacements in the construction of meaning

5 cr.- Extensions of sculptural thought

5 cr.- Art and technology of the image

5 cr.- Production modes: placements and para-artistic practices

5 cr.- From the artist's book to the digital book

5 cr.- The extension of graphic thinking in current artistic practices

The master offers two specialties (the student must choose one of them):

 

Specialty: ART AND INTERMEDIA CONTEXTS

Students must take 40 credits + 20 credits Final Project to pass the speciality.

7.5 cr.- Representations of space and time in the intermedia art

7.5 cr.- Inquiries into reality. Paradigms of mind

5 cr.- Workshop: Meta-narratives, critical stories and performativity

5 cr.- Workshop: Records and filmic experimentation expanding towards other media

5 cr.- Cultural circuits. Political and aesthetic dimension of artistic practice

10 cr.- Practicum Stage

20 cr.- MASTERS FINAL PROJECT

(The Masters offers the possibility to participate in residences in Production Centers of the city, with which there is an specific agreement of collaboration)

Specialty: ART AND TECHNOLOGY OF THE IMAGE

Students must take 40 Optional credits + 20 credits Final Project to pass the speciality.

40 optional credits must be chosen from the following subjects:

5 cr.- Processes of production and dissemination of media arts

5 cr.- Emerging Media

5 cr.- Art projects and curatorial processes

5 cr.- Image construction processes

5 cr.- Other imaginaries: transversal readings and gender policies

5 cr.- Contemporary representations of the printed image

5 cr.- Image: identity and memory

5 cr.- Research Methodologies I

5 cr.- Research Methodologies II

20 cr.- MASTERS FINAL PROJECT
