Campus Sants classroom UB

The bachelor's degree in Digital Information and Documentation Management (GIDD) is the updated bachelor's degree in Information and Documentation, currently in the process of being phased out, which was first taught at the Faculty in the academic year 2009-2010. The new qualification, verified by AQU and the Council of Universities in 2018, was implemented in the academic year 2019-2020. It is based on the experience and knowledge of the previous course curriculum, which has been adapted and updated to a new scenario in which information is transmitted, processed, stored and distributed mainly in digital form.

The degree focuses on the study of how to generate and harness information, covering organization, search, use and transmission. Graduates have a wide range of career opportunities in cutting-edge technology companies (websites, social networks, safety and vigilance in digital environments, e-commerce, information auditing, etc.) or any type of institution specialized in information (such as public, university, museums or administrative libraries; documentation centres specialized in areas such as health, the law or the media; heritage or company archives, etc.).

The bachelor's degree in Digital Information and Documentation Management (GIDD) has a total study load of 240 credits, of which 60 correspond to basic training subjects. It provides students with a general training and prepares them for subsequent specialization through a wide range of  master's degrees

As part of their studies, students are offered various mobility options  (Erasmus, SICUE, CINDA, summer placements, stays abroad) and paid non-curricular placement options in order to gain experience in different professional areas.
