Introduction

The double degree pathway in Law and Political and Administrative Sciences provides both basic training in legal studies and multidisciplinary training that combines theoretical knowledge and practical tools from a variety of fields, including political science, law, history, economics, sociology, and administrative science.
The double degree pathway in Law and Political and Administrative Sciences allows students to work towards two bachelor's degrees at the same time. It is organized in two lines, which provide training in fields related to politics – in particular, in activities related to analysis, advising and support for political activity and decision-making – and solid basic training in law. It produces high-level professionals capable of thriving in a variety of political and administrative fields (public administration, government, parliament, international institutions, political organizations, etc.) with extensive knowledge and mastery of legal language and techniques. In the public sector, it meets the academic needs required to sit the various competitive examinations for legal and administrative bodies; in the private sector, it prepares graduates to pursue careers at law firms, legal consultancies, third-sector organizations and NGOs, as well as to provide specialized consulting services.

Placements

Placements in a company or another type of organization are an integral part of university studies, providing first-hand experience of working methodologies in students' chosen professional fields. They offer invaluable practical experience for the transition into work after graduation.

Placements are supervised by tutors and subject to assessment. They are therefore included in the academic record.  There is also an option to complete non-curricular placements of up to 500 hours, which can be extended to 900 hours. For both curricular and non-curricular placements, an educational cooperation agreement is signed between the UB and the company, institution or other organization at which the placement will be carried out.

Career opportunities

What can you work on ?

The career opportunities provided by this double degree are those of the bachelor's degrees in Law and in Political and Administration Science. There is also added value derived from the multidisciplinary nature of political studies and the specific professional training provided by legal studies. In the current professional situation in the public and private arena, there is a clear need for professionals from different fields to work together and for an interdisciplinary approach. In the public sector, this dual pathway meets the academic requirements of public examinations for legal and administrative positions (for example, judges and attorneys, diplomats and experts in government bodies). In the private sector, the dual pathway increase students' ability to work, for example, in large law firms and legal consultancies, third-sector organizations and NGOs and to carry out highly specialized consultancy activities.
