Information for the student – Cancer Research

The research project has a study load of 24 ECTS and the students have to develop a project related to Cancer,

Experimental Master's Thesis (total 24 ECTS) is developed during the second semester. It is a fully experimental project conducted by the student.

It will take place in research laboratories of leading cancer research groups at the University of Barcelona, IDIBAPS, IDIBELL, Hospital Clínic, Hospital de Bellvitge, the Catalan Institute of Oncology, or other research institutes with which agreements will be established. It can also be development in a foreigner laboratory.

The University of Barcelona belongs to Coimbra Group Life Sciences Master´s Programs: “Master in Cancer Biology” and you could search labs among the labs of this program.

A list of possible placements to carry out the Final Project (renewed on 17/10/25). 

Students of the master's degree have to choose during the first semester a scientific supervisor for their Final Project and fill in the following control form.

Students who do not have a supervisor or a research group with which to complete the Final Project may contact degree coordinators for advice, guidance and suggestions.

Project presentation and defense

Both written report and oral presentation in front a specific committee will be between 25 June to 15 July.
