Credit recognition

The degree student can request the recognition of credits for the degree they are studying, that is, the acceptance, by the UB, of the training or professional experience contemplated in the Recognition Regulations and Transfer of Credits in the Official Degree Courses of the University of Barcelona.

The request must be submitted to the SED (Secretariat of Students and Teaching) of the Faculty during the academic year and accompanied by the following documentation:

  • photocopy of the ID
  • request for transfer and recognition of credits
  • academic certificate stating the subjects, the number of credits and the qualification obtained in the studies of origin, as well as the information on the studies that gave access to the University (academic file in the case of UB students)
  • programs of the subjects studied, duly stamped by the corresponding center
  • photocopy of the study plan completed, duly stamped by the corresponding center
  • in case it is not stated in the academic certificate, certified photocopy of the accrediting documentation that gave access to the University
  • payment of the fees for the study of the request for transfer and recognition.

The credits that the resolution considers recognized, always in accordance with the regulations mentioned previously, must be registered by the student afterwards, so that they are incorporated into their file and count towards obtaining the qualification for which they have been recognized.

Transfer of credits

The transfer of credits consists of the inclusion in the student's academic record of the credits obtained in official studies completed previously that did not lead to the obtaining of an official degree. In the case of students from another university, the transfer of credits involves the payment of the file transfer from the university of origin. Credits cannot be transferred if the student wishes to alternate or combine studies.

The request must be submitted to the Secretary of the Faculty, accompanied by the documentation required in the form.
