#CICNews | Communication Studies from the Faculty of Philology and Communication become members of the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia

Published on 26 November, 2020

The Communication section of University of Barcelona’s Faculty of Philology and Communication has become a member of the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia, which will allow the students of communication studies (the Degree in Communication and Cultural Industries and the Master’s Degree in Specialized Communication) to participate in the activities scheduled by the organization.

The Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia is a group of companies and institutions in the audiovisual and multimedia sector that carry out various initiatives to stay connected with each other, and also with the economic sector that surrounds them. It includes organisations that are dedicated to production, post-production, visual effects, distribution, exhibition, advertising, photography and virtual reality, as well as radio and television operators.

Being part of the Cluster provides visibility and positioning in the audiovisual sector, and offers a contact network that can open ways for the development of projects. In this respect, the Talent Week stands out. It is an annual event organized by the Cluster that gives its participants the opportunity to present projects in front of companies and professionals from the sector.

The Cluster also takes part in the organization of meetings and conferences on very diverse topics, which are usually linked to film or audiovisual festivals. For example, within the framework of Filmets or at the Serielizados Fest.
