The Faculty opens wide to bring knowledge in languages, literatures and communication to the city of Barcelona

The Faculty of Philology and Communication of the University of Barcelona, in collaboration with the Network of Libraries of Barcelona, presents the sixth cycle of thematic talks in an outreach exercise that seeks to bring the knowledge and expertise of the Faculty closer to all citizens. From February 20 to June 5, the Joan Maragall classroom of the Faculty (University of Barcelona - Historic Building - Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585) will host a total of 10 monographic sessions that will reflect in a panoramic way the activity of the center, this year with a special orientation in gender perspective.

The program consists of the following talks:

• «Doblement invisible: Dones i traducció a l’Edat de Plata» – Dra. Assumpta Camps (March 6)
• «Veus femenines que criden per sortir: Hombres imposibles i Pell de foca» – Dra. Janina Espuny i Dra. Sylvia Torras (March 20)
• «El Cant dels Nibelungs. Una visió de l’epopeia alemanya en el temps» – Dr. Joan Dalmases (April 3)
• «L’estudi de les revistes culturals com a provocació a la història literària» – Dr. Bernat Padró (April 10)
• «Amb veu femenina: l’alfabetització de les dones en les llengües paleohispàniques» – Dra. Noemí Moncunill (May 8)
• «La novel·la grega antiga. Una aproximació al gènere a través de les protagonistes femenines» – Dra. Roser Homar (May 15)
• «Arte y resistencia en Palestina» – Dra. Danaé Fonseca (May 22)
• «El pulso de la cultura actual en el periodismo de Jorge Carrión» – Dra. Ana González Tornero (May 29)
• «La qüestió de la interpretació de Moby-Dick» – Dr. Rodrigo Andrés (June 5)

The sessions, which are developed from the presentations of the speakers and a final exchange on the subject with the audience, are free and remain open to anyone interested.
