The professor of the Department of Catalan Philology and General Linguistics of the Faculty of Philology and Communication is part of the group of researchers of the University of Barcelona who have been awarded for scientific and technological merit

The Government of Catalonia has awarded the Narcís Monturiol medal to three members of the teaching and research staff of the University of Barcelona. Among these is the graduate in English Philology and ICREA researcher, Anna Alberni.

The focus of his research focuses on the edition and study of medieval Catalan poetry, with attention to the formal and linguistic aspects of the transmission and reception of Romanesque lyric in the Middle Ages, considering philology and digital humanities as a tool to interpret texts in their historical complexity.

These awards, forged by the Generalitat in 1982, distinguish people and entities for their contribution to the development of science and technology in Catalonia, and honor the popular Catalan inventor and politician of the 19th century, Narcís Monturiol Estarriol (1819-1885).
