This subject is taken during the 2nd Semester, from February to May, a total of 120 to be distributed. Maximum of 4 / 5 hours per day, from Monday to Friday. Exceptionally, another timetable may be agreed upon if both parties (student and institution) so agree.

-Students must not have any specific training apart from the training required to study the Master in Specialized Communication.
-It is recommended to have previously completed the 24 credits of the Communication Areas module.
-The internships must be carried out in a company or institution linked to the areas of specialization of the Master.
- Consult the UB practice regulations: http://www.ub.edu/feinaub/docs/normativa_practiques_2012.pdf

The student does an internship in organizations directly related to the specialty studied by the student. Internships consist of practicing the profession under the tutelage of a company manager and tutoring and monitoring by a Master's professor, who is responsible for the module. In addition, the student must write an evaluation report on the internship, which will be independent of the final master's thesis.
At the beginning of the course, the student will have the information of the companies or institutions interested in hosting students in internships, having to fill in a registration form where they will have to select three options in order of priority.

  • Each student will have two tutors: the one from the company/institution and the academic one.
  • They will take place in private companies or public institutions preferably from February to May (second semester of the academic year) and, beforehand, an agreement must have been signed between the UB and the company/institution. The agreement must include a personalized training project for each student, which will be negotiated and agreed beforehand with the academic tutor and the institution/company tutor.
  • At the end of the stay, the student must draw up a practical report, which he will hand in to his academic tutor (see its content in Evaluation), of a maximum of 10 pages (separate appendices). The works can be submitted in Spanish, Catalan or English.
  • There will be a minimum of three tutoring sessions between the student and the academic tutor:
  • An initial tutorial, with the intention of guiding and informing the student before starting the internship.
  • A follow-up tutorial in the middle of the internship period. If the student or the academic tutor deems it appropriate, more follow-up tutoring sessions will be held.
  • A final tutorial in which the student will make a short presentation and oral assessment of the practices in a session agreed with the academic tutor.
  • Delivery of the internship report (date to be agreed depending on the end of the internship).

The evaluation of the external practices will be based on:
-The company/institution tutor will make a report on the student at the end of the internship (40%).
-The student must present a report of the work completed to the company/institution at the end of the internship (40%). This written report must include the following points:
1. Presentation
2. Description of the company or institution
3. Description of the practices:
· Activity that has been developed and methodology used
· Work plan carried out and objectives achieved
4. Connection of internships with Master's studies
5. Personal assessment of the skills and abilities developed
(most significant positive and negative aspects)
6. Annexes (examples of the work done and/or documentation that is considered
relevant)
-Follow-up and tutoring (20%)
