Sergi Valera and Álvaro Rodríguez-Carballeira participate in a COP conference on the present and future of social intervention
On 27 November, faculty members from the Faculty of Psychology of the Universitat de Barcelona took part in Madrid in the conference «Present and Future of Psychology in Social Intervention», organised by the Spanish General Council of Psychology (COP). The event brought together representatives from academic, professional and professional association contexts to analyse the current situation of psychology in social intervention and to share reflections on its present and future challenges.
Within the framework of the conference, contributions were made by Sergi Valera Pertegàs, associate professor in the Department of Social Psychology and Quantitative Psychology and coordinator of the Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Psychosocial Intervention at the Universitat de Barcelona, and Álvaro Rodríguez-Carballeira, professor of Social and Legal Psychology at the UB and member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Scientific Society of Social Psychology (SCEPS).
Sergi Valera took part in the panel dedicated to training and specialised master’s programmes, where issues related to the competences required for social intervention and the alignment of training pathways with the demands of intervention contexts were discussed.
In addition, Álvaro Rodríguez-Carballeira participated as moderator of the round table «Professional situation and recognition» and in the final closing session. In this session, he spoke alongside representatives of the SCEPS, the Spanish Society of Psychology in Social Intervention (SEPIS) and the Spanish General Council of Psychology. Reflections were shared on the trajectory and current situation of psychology in social intervention.
The participation of faculty members from the Faculty of Psychology in this conference forms part of their academic and scientific activity in the field of social psychology and psychosocial intervention.
