Resum: The appearance of RNA and DNA are considered to be an important phase in the origin of life. In this context, the chemical origin of RNA and DNA must be balanced by the selection process of RNA and DNA based on their function. The presentation will focus on the structure-function relationship of RNA and DNA and elaborate on the idea that RNA and DNA are emergent species that may have co-evolved together rather than arising sequentially.
