Resum:

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), part of the United Stated Department of Commerce, was founded in 1901 and is one of the nation’s oldest physical sciences laboratories. It is home to a number of world-class user facilities, including the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) and the Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST). This presentation will give a brief, broad overview of some of these facilities and their capabilities, along with select historical NIST milestones. The presentation will also provide information on NIST’s Chemical Science Division, which provides measurement science, standards, technology data, and chemical informatics to support a variety of the nation’s needs regarding determination of chemical composition, measurement of chemical properties and processes, etc.
