Excavation campaign at the Alguaire monastery
Between 19th to 30th April we kicked off the archaeological excavation campaign in the Alguaire monastery.
In this campaign we have opened the tomb of the prioress Jeronima Gort, discovered in 2019.
This intervention is included in the Monastic Landscapes projects and in the archaeological project on castles, monasteries and palaces led by Maria Soler Sala. It was carried out with the support of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and the municipality of Alguaire. The archaeological team is from LAMUB and IRCVM (University of Barcelona).
