Luiz Brotherhood publishes in The Review of Economic Studies, a top-five economics journal
UB School of Economics researcher Luiz Brotherhood has published the article “Optimal Age-based Policies for Pandemics: An Economic Analysis of Covid-19 and Beyond” in The Review of Economic Studies, one of the five leading academic journals in economics. The paper is co-authored with Philipp Kircher (Cornell University), Cezar Santos (Inter-American Development Bank), and Michèle Tertilt (University of Mannheim).

The UB School of Economics welcomes the 2026–2027 MSc in Economics cohort
The UB School of Economics is pleased to welcome the new cohort of the MSc in Economics for the 2026–2027 academic year. In the first semester, the programme brings together 40 students: 29 beginning the full programme and 11 mobility students joining from partner universities across Europe.

EALE 2026 brings together more than 420 economists in Barcelona
The 38th Annual Conference of the European Association of Labour Economists (EALE) has come to an end after three days of research presentations, academic exchange and discussion. Held from 31 August to 2 September 2026 at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona, the conference brought together more than 420 researchers, academics, policymakers and professionals from around the world, making EALE 2026 one of the largest gatherings of the European labour economics community.
