Joan-Ramon Borrell Wins Readers’ Choice Award at the Antitrust Writing Awards 2025
Our researcher Joan-Ramon Borrell, along with Carmen García Galindo (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), Juan Luis Jiménez (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), and José Manuel Ordóñez-de-Haro (Universidad de Málaga), has won the Readers’ Choice Award in the General Economics category at the Antitrust Writing Awards 2025.
Their paper, titled “Short- and Long-Run Effects of Leniency Programs on Cartel Stability and Prosecution”, investigates the impact of leniency programmes on cartel duration, fines, and the length of investigations. The study provides empirical insights that contribute to the ongoing debate on their theoretical and practical implications.
The paper received the award after securing 25,000 reader votes and being selected from over 1,600 reviewed papers.
