Newly created research institute BEAT to hold launch event on October 25th
The newly created research institute Barcelona Economic Analysis Team (BEAT) established within the Universitat de Barcelona School of Economics will hold its launch event on October 25th at the Aula Magna of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona. The event aims to present BEAT and its members to the Catalan academic community, to representatives from the media and public administrations and to society in general.
The launch event will start at 13:30 with a welcome lunch followed an official opening and a keynote lecture by Professor Alicia Adsera (Princeton University), one of the members of BEAT’s International Advisory Board. After the lecture, members of BEAT will give two short talks showcasing their research and will engage on a panel discussion on the challenges of the welfare state. The full programme of the event can be found here.
BEAT encompasses researchers from four departments and seven consolidated research groups. This new platform aims to produce excellent research along three lines: Behaviour, Markets and Games; Macroeconomics, Development and Trade; and Environment, Sustainability and Well-Being.
