The University of Barcelona climbs 6 places in the QS World University Rankings
The University of Barcelona has been ranked the 160th best university in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2016/2017 after climbing 6 places. It remains as the 1st university in Southern Europe and Spain. Since 2012, the UB has jumped a total of 27 positions in this international ranking which assesses academic reputation (40%), scientific citations per faculty (20%), student-to-faculty ratio (20%), employer reputation (10%), international faculty ratio (5%) and student ratio (5%). The ranking is led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford, Harvard, Cambridge and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
