According to the same ranking, our university stands out among the top 50 European institutions and the top 100 institutions in the world for the same field.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/world-university-rankings\/2019\/subject-ranking\/social-sciences#!\/page\/0\/length\/-1\/subjects\/3084\/sort_by\/rank\/sort_order\/asc\/cols\/stats\"><strong>THE World University Rankings by subject 2019<\/strong><\/a>, the University of Barcelona is ranked 4<sup>th<\/sup> in Spain for sociology. The institution is also one of the top 300 universities in the world for this field.<\/p>\n<p>For the broader field of Social Sciences, the University of Barcelona has been ranked 4<sup>th<\/sup> in Spain, 62<sup>nd<\/sup> in Europe and 152<sup>nd<\/sup> in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leidenranking.com\/ranking\/2018\/list\"><strong>CWTS Leiden Ranking by Field 2018<\/strong><\/a> places the university as no. 1 in Spain for Social Sciences and Humanities.
