Policy Roundtable on Mongolia’s Generational and Gendered Economy

Our coordinator, Ció Patxot, participated this week in the “Advancing Equity and Inclusion: A High-Level Policy Roundtable on Mongolia’s Generational and Gendered Economy” event hosted by UNFPA Mongolia.

The meeting focused on demographic shifts and the use of National Transfer Accounts (NTA) data for policy-making, with presentations from experts discussing the economic contributions of different age groups and the importance of unpaid care work. Participants explored how NTA can support policies promoting gender equality, education, and social protection, while highlighting the need for better data management and integration of care economy considerations into pension systems. The discussions covered various aspects of demographic trends in Asia, including aging populations and the potential for demographic dividends, with emphasis on the importance of education, sustainable development, and integrated policy approaches.
