We are happy to share that SUSTAINWELL has been featured in the MediaHub of our partner Fundacion ‘la Caixa’ through its Social Observatory, with an article titled “Do financial incentives boost fertility in the long term?”
In this article, our colleagues Lidia Cruces and F. Javier Rodríguez Román at Goethe Universität Frankfurt provide an assessment of the effects of the cheque bebé – a 2,500 EUR transfer implemented by the Spanish government in 2007 – on the total number of children per woman. The research has been conducted via a model that simulates women’s labour force participation and fertility decisions, including their willingness to have children and associated costs.
The study highlights the objectives of the SUSTAINWELL project and the commitment of its partners to support the development of policies that promote social cohesion, productivity, and welfare while addressing the rights and preferences of individuals and households over their lifetime.
