Joel obtained a Bechelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona in 2025. During his undergraduate studies, he carried out a research project focused on the synthesis of bis-bicyclic α-iminophosphonates as ligands for the imidazoline I2 receptor. He has recently begun his first year of his doctoral studies under the supervision of Dr. Carles Galdeano and Prof. Carmen Escolano. His PhD research focuses on the design of novel PROTACs molecules for target deconvolution, including the Imidazoline I2 receptor as a therapeutic target for Alzheimer’s Disease.
