Phase 3 activities

1.     Training in N-Vivo qualitative analysis. The relevant software licenses (PC and MAC) were purchased, to be installed in each university. 

2.     Choice of interview topics and procedures. The selection criteria to address the objectives of the narrative study of transitions to masters’ degree courses were agreed on, according to the types of degree, university and student.

3.     Identification of interviewees. Proportional distribution criteria among the universities, types of degree and student profiles were decided on.

4.     Confirmation of interview participation. Interviewees were contacted and asked for informed consent. The procedure was validated by the Bioethical Committee of the UB.

5.     Carrying out and transcribing narrative interviews. The 56 interviews were distributed among all the study participants.

6.     Establishment of categories. In several meetings, a system of general categories with two levels of specification was agreed on. All members of the research team took part in this process.

7.     Content analysis. NVivo Pro was the program used for this. The projects were established, attributes were identified and the interviews were coded. All members of the research team participated.
