RSS (abbreviation for Really Simple Syndication) is a content distribution channel that is updated frequently , such as news sites , weblogs and podcasts, and through which information can be shared and used on other web sites or programs . It is essentially a content syndication.

The main advantage is the flexibility of the system, since there is no need to download images and other elements of the web, only headlines and has the capacity of grouping the conten of many websites in one space. With this technology, users no longer have to worry about checking for news that interest them in a particular digital space and can receive and organize the newest headlines of a particular website as they are published. A program that uses RSS is called feed. There are many types : embedded in web browsers, desktop widgets , email programs on dedicated websites and dedicated programs.
