The PhD program in Economics is one of only a small number of programs in Spain to have been distinguished by the Ministry of Education's 'Pathway to Excellence award', which acknowledges quality and impact of the research.

The program benefits from the participation of over 100 PhD supervisors specializing in the different economics research programmes carried out at the faculty. All of them are researchers involved in ongoing projects and publish in indexed journals.
