is a laboratory born in 2019 as part of the Enteric Virus Laboratory, located in the Food and Nutrition Torribera Campus.<\/h4><h4>SAVCA\u2019s primary mission is to identify major viral contaminants in food and water\u2014such as hepatitis A virus and noroviruses\u2014while delivering high-quality service and expert guidance in the field of foodborne and waterborne quantitative analysis of viruses in samples of interest in the food chain, such as, bivalve molluscs, red fruits and other fruits, vegetables or seaweed that are eaten raw, or other foods with suspicion of viral contamination on its surface.<\/li><li>Analysis of detection and quantification of viruses in environmental samples such drinking water, regenerated water and others.<\/li><li>Validation studies of viral inactivation processes, and antiviral activity of products and processes of application to the food chain.<\/li><li>Tailored guidance and training in virological safety across the food supply chain.<\/li><\/ul><h3>Testing laboratory accredited by ENAC with accreditation No.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ub.edu\/virusenterics\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/CERT_5166_LE_2869-311025.pdf\">520\/LE2869<\/a> in accordance with ISO 17025, for the testing activities defined in the
