Introduction

The bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communication prepares audiovisual professionals for a variety of roles: director, scriptwriter, producer, visual and sound production and post-production designer, researcher, specialist in corporate communication and community manager.
The bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communication offers comprehensive training in the skills needed to thrive as an audiovisual professional. Students learn to use the technical tools that are needed to create content, and acquire practice in planning and implementing innovative audiovisual projects, in various formats and supports (audiovisual, radio, sound, text and digital). The subjects of this degree promote entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity through project-based learning. The programme also encourages participation in documentary and fiction film festivals, as well as contests for new audiovisual formats, and it fosters initiatives with social impact. Likewise, it promotes the training of professionals with critical and analytical skills, capable of studying and understanding the media and audiovisual products within the social, economic, political and cultural structure of which they are part.

Recommended applicant profile

Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communication, applicants may have backgrounds including any of the upper secondary pathways, advanced vocational qualifications or other pre-EHEA (llicenciatura) degrees, fundamentally in social and legal sciences, arts or humanities.

Pre-enrolment

Placements

Placements are supervised by tutors and subject to assessment.They are therefore included in the academic record.  There is also an option to complete non-curricular placements of up to 500 hours, which can be extended to 900 hours. For both curricular and non-curricular placements, an educational cooperation agreement is signed between the UB and the company, institution or other organization at which the placement will be carried out.

What can you work on ?

  • Directing, scriptwriting and audiovisual production. Directing, scripting and production tasks across diverse audiovisual media and genres. Video recording and editing, sound processing, image processing, animation, multimedia production, transmedia storytelling, art direction, direction of actors and dramatic composition.
  • Production and postproduction design. Design of aspects related to sound, image and graphic composition in the various stages of audiovisual production and direction.
  • Audiovisual production and management. Design, planning, optimization and organization of the technical, human, legal and financial resources involved in audiovisual production. Project management, marketing, intellectual property, law and compliance, audiovisual documentation, content management, planning, organization and management of audiovisual enterprises, production management in radio, television and cinema, and online audiovisual and multimedia production.
  • Research and consultancy in audiovisual media. Specialized tasks in research and analysis of phenomena and processes in audiovisual communication, its relationship with culture and society, and new audiovisual formats and technologies.
