Pre-enrolment calendar

The pre-enrolment period opens as of January and closes, at the latest, in September. Each centre and each master's degree can establish their specific periods within this general period.

Notes:
  • Pre-enrolment fee: A pre-enrolment fee of 30,21 euros is charged. Students who apply to more than one master's degree must pay the fee for each pre-enrolment request. Pre-enrolment requests cannot be processed until this fee has been paid.Fees will only be refunded if the master's degree in question is suspended.
  • Reserved places: A maximum of 5% of the new places of the master's degree are reserved for students who meet the general and specific access requirements and accredit the recognition of a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%.

Selection criteria

  • Academic record (50%). Candidates will receive credit for previous training in topics related to the course content. In all cases, however, a weighted numerical grade of 7.5 (on a scale of 1-10 or its equivalent) is required for admission to the course.
  • Professional record / research experience (40%). Special attention is given to training in subject areas linked to the content of this master's degree, gained during professional practice or at the start of a research career.
  • Statement of interest, outlining the candidate's reasons for applying (10%). In their statements, candidates must clearly state:
    • Why they are interested in the approach of this master's degree.
    • What their reasons are for selecting this master's degree.
    • What their expectations of this master's degree are.
    • Why they have selected this master's degree rather than other possible master's degrees on the same subject matter.
  • Portuguese language skills.

Notification

Once the pre-enrolment period has closed and all documentation has been received, the Master's Degree Committee appoints an Admissions Committee, which examines each application on the basis of the selection criteria.
Candidates will receive notification by email and ordinary mail of the result of their application. In addition, a list of the successful, unsuccessful and wait-listed candidates will be published in accordance with the procedures established by the University of Barcelona.
Candidates may appeal admissions decisions to the Master's Committee, which will review the candidate's application and issue a final decision.

Enrolment

Students can enrol at the beginning of each semester: early October and early February. Students may choose to enrol for the forthcoming semester or for the full academic year.
