MIND DEVELOPMENT AND ALTERATIONS FROM A PSYCHOANALYTICAL PERSPECTIVE (2019-2020)

Objectives and admission

Learning objectives:
- To specialise in providing clinical care to infants, children and adolescents as individuals in their formative years.
- To acquire the theoretical and diagnostic skills to address situations in which emotional development may be affected and lead to pathological issues.
- Special emphasis will be put on personality and behavioural changes.
- To identify the main theoretical and technical models of psychoanalytic psychotherapy for children, adolescents and their families.
- To discuss therapeutic strategies through consideration of clinical cases.
- To gain a general introduction to clinical care and technical resources for clinical practice.
- To learn how the healthcare network works for child and adolescent mental health.
- To learn to identify an object of study and research in a clinical setting.

Recommended applicant profiles and admission requirements:
Holders of degrees in psychology or medicine who would like to acquire a more detailed understanding of psychoanalytic theory and its application to work with newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and their parents.
