This course may undergo changes in the calendar, teaching methodology or assessment procedure depending on the course of events and the guidelines of health authorities in relation to the COVID-19 crisis. Notwithstanding, the quality of the training and the achievement of objectives are guaranteed in all cases.

Objectives and admission

Learning objectives:
- Learn in depth the Catalan, Spanish and European legal framework that affects the bookstore business.
- Learn in depth administrative and accounting aspects that affect the bookstore sector.
- Learn and deepen knowledge of logistic aspects that affect the bookstore sector.
- Learn and deepen knowledge of stock control and storeroom management in the bookstore sector.
- Learn and deepen knowledge of economic aspects and the profitability of bookstores.
- Learn and deepen knowledge of economic, financial, tax and treasury management of bookstores.
- Learn in depth about the computer programmes and systems used to manage a bookstore's stock.
- Learn in depth about resources and tools for bibliographic information, localisation and selection.
- To learn in depth the basic principles of customer care, particularly in the bookstore sector.
- To learn and deepen knowledge of relationships with the government: in participation in competitions and tenders; applications for grants and subsidies; participation in organised activities for government bodies.
- In short, acquire the knowledge and skills required to immediately join any kind of bookstore-related business.

Admission for applicants not holding a degree qualification:
Students who are not university graduates may be admitted on these courses. These students will be eligible for a university extension course certificate.Information regarding the entry requirements in this case can be obtained from the course coordinators.
