Objectives and admission

Learning objectives:
- To improve the professional potential in the renewable energy sector, offering a clear and up-to-date overview of the energy sector and of applications of the most commonly used and fastest growing renewable energies.
- Design and evaluate energy projects from a technical and economic point of view.
- To study criteria used for solving problems in professional areas of renewable energy.
- To learn the fundamental aspects for the implementation and management of renewable energy installations.
- To be able to economically evaluate energy projects.
- Acquire the knowledge and data to raise awareness in others of the importance of efficient energy use.

Recommended applicant profiles and admission requirements:
Professionals who wish to professionally develop in the technical field or in management of renewable energy sources, current energy market or efficiency and sustainability, with the following backgrounds:
- Technical fields: engineering (industrial, chemical, energy, building, mechanical, agronomic, geological, environmental, materials, etc.) and architecture.
- Scientific fields: graduates in environmental sciences, physics, chemistry, geology, biology or other scientific technical disciplines.
- Other professions in energy companies.

Admission for applicants not holding a degree qualification:
Students who are not university graduates may be admitted on these courses. These students will be eligible for a university extension course certificate.Information regarding the entry requirements in this case can be obtained from the course coordinators.
