Objectives and admission

Learning objectives:
- To raise student awareness of the importance of including the environment as one of the potential causes of sun damage and photoaging during dermatological practice (diagnosis and treatment).
- To present the principles of photobiology, the physiopathology of natural and artificial radiation (including photoaging), and the bases of prevention and treatment.
- To demonstrate the main types of climate and their impact on skin as well as the negative impact of pollution and climate change on the appearance and worsening of dermatological pathology and skin ageing.
- To transmit to students the need for dermatological practice that considers the environmental impact and provide tools to seek sustainability in medical practice.

Recommended applicant profiles and admission requirements:
- Dermatologists with over three years of experience in professional practice.
- Graduates in medicine and surgery with a specialization in dermatology.
- Resident physicians in the last year of a specialization in dermatology.

Access for students without an official qualification is reserved exclusively for those with degrees in Medicine or Surgery with a specialization in Dermatology whose qualification is not legalised in Spain at the start of the course.

Admission for applicants not holding a degree qualification:
The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
