Learning objectives:
- To acquire knowledge in the areas of medicine, music and psychology, which are central to this master's degree.

- To apply the principles of music therapy in different groups.
- To plan and implement action plans in different areas.
- To design and implement specific evaluation systems for music therapy that take into account the objectives and the skills to be acquired.
Recommended applicant profiles and admission requirements:
- Holders of university degrees and diplomas in the fields of health, social work and education who have knowledge of music.
- Holders of music degrees and other higher education qualifications in music, in any area of specialization.
In addition, the candidate should complete the following basic requirements in order to most effectively follow the course plan of the Masters in Music Therapy.
The following aspects are highly valued in the admissions process:
- Advanced studies completed in the following areas: music, education, health and mental health.
- To acquire practical musical and improvisation skills.
- To gain basic knowledge of harmony to be able to play simple accompaniment on the guitar or piano.
- Previous practical experience in areas related to health (medicine, nursing, geriatrics, psychiatry, psychology), education, special education, social projects of rehabilitation and social integration and volunteer capacity.
- Teamwork skills.
- Attitude towards work as a therapist in contact with different groups (children and adults with psychiatric problems, emotional or developmental disorders, elderly people, neurological rehabilitation, palliative care, etc.).
Admission for applicants not holding a degree qualification:
The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
