Notwithstanding, the quality of the training and the achievement of objectives are guaranteed in all cases.

Objectives and admission

Learning objectives:
- Learn the scientific evidence of risks and benefits of physical activity in various diseases.
- Be able to critically read scientific texts to propose suitable actions in various diseases.
- Be able to interpret scientific documents, draw conclusions and establish recommendations to draw up protocols of action.
- Design protocols of action in accordance with the various positions of scientific associations.
- Understand the physiological response of various diseases to exercise and training.
Be able to prevent or treat illnesses through physical activity and knowledge of physiology, biochemistry and physiopathology.
- Be able to establish a suitable type, intensity, frequency and duration of exercise to treat each disease.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of new technological tools and solutions to design protocols of physical activity depending on the disease.
- Be able to interpret indications and contraindications of physical activity for each disease.
- Learn the interaction of physical activity and drugs.

Recommended applicant profiles and admission requirements:
Holders of degrees in health sciences: biology, physical activity and sports sciences, nursing, physiotherapy, biomedicine, medicine, human nutrition and dietetics, and also teachers specialized in physical education.

Access requirements:
- Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy.
- Knowledge of training theory.

Admission for applicants not holding a degree qualification:
Students who are not university graduates may be admitted on these courses. These students will be eligible for a university extension course certificate.Information regarding the entry requirements in this case can be obtained from the course coordinators.
