Learning objectives:
- To develop a thorough understanding of the concept of animal cruelty.
- To analyse criminal behaviour associated with animal cruelty.
- To establish the connection between animal cruelty and violent crime.
- To determine the principles for the prevention and detection of animal cruelty.
- Acquire basic knowledge in animal law and other related branches of law.
- Acquire knowledge about forensic competence.
- Learn about international experiences in dealing with violence towards animals.

- Personnel of the state security forces and the justice system.
- Graduates and holders of pre-EHEA degrees in scientific disciplines such as psychology, criminology, law, medicine, social work, veterinary science, etc.
- Volunteers and members of animal shelters.
- Professionals who work in areas related to animals.
- Any other person who is interested in the subject area.
Admission for applicants not holding a degree qualification:
The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
