Doctor Honoris Causa conferment to Nobel Prize Nobel Saul Perlmutter
Solemn academic session to award the honorary doctorate to Professor Saul Perlmutter -proposed by the Faculty of Physics. Saul Perlmutter is an awarded astrophycisist, together with Adam Riess and Brian P. Schmidt, with the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2011 for having proved that the expansion of the Universe is speeding up, contrary to what was believed so far.
