Reading workshop: “Female writers II”

Academical

After the successful first edition, the University of Barcelona offers the new Reading Workshop: "Female writers II", coordinated by the writer Pablo Nacach, doctor in Philosophy at the UB and graduated in Sociology at the University of Buenos Aires. The activity is aimed at members of PAS of the Univesity and students who enroled in any official degree of the UB (bachelor, postgraduate, master and doctoral studies).

The workshop lasts sixteen hours, distributed in eight sessions that last two hours each, and is structured around the clear and specific objective: enjoy joint readings of a series of texts written by women who are icons of universal literature.

The core activity of the workshop is the reading of the selected textx -to be carried out during the sessions of the course-, working on aspects such as the biography and bibliography of the authors, the historical and political context of these pieces and literary and technical considerations of the texts, among other things. With this aim, the activity uses literary, historical, poetry and philosophical works, apart from videos and films to help get inside the treated topics. Moreover, there are creative writing exercises on the readings, since this is another idea of the workshop: writing is another way of reading.

These sessions will take place on March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, and April 14, 21 and 28, 2020; from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The activity is free but there are limited registrations. Registration will be open until reaching 15 registered students. To register, please send a message to vr.igualtat@ub.edu
