According to the edition of the ranking that the British magazine The Times Higher Education (THE) publishes, the University of Barcelona keeps its position in this ranking among the 201st and the 225th and regains its leadership in the national university scene. Moreover, the University of Barcelona is one of the top hundred European university centres, according to the 2012-2013 edition which has just been released. The Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University are also among these positions (201st-225th).

According to the edition of the ranking that the British magazine The Times Higher Education (THE) publishes, the University of Barcelona keeps its position in this ranking among the 201st and the 225th and regains its leadership in the national university scene. Moreover, the University of Barcelona is one of the top hundred European university centres, according to the 2012-2013 edition which has just been released. The Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University are also among these positions (201st-225th).

 

In the 2012 edition, the institutions which lead this international ranking are: the California Institute of Technology (United States), the Stanford University (United States), the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), the Harvard University (United States), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, United States).

 

 As stated by the results, the other Spanish universities well positioned are: the Autonomous University of Madrid (301st -350th), the University of Valencia, the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the University of Vigo (351st -400th). Taking into account the information published, it is important to highlight the remarkable leadership of the Catalan universities over the Spanish ones. This raking employ thirteen performance indicators that can be grouped into different areas, in which the UB has get the following results: teaching (32.5 %), international outcome (46 %), knowledge and innovation transfer (30.9 %), research (33.4 %), and citations (71,4 %).
