The group of people who work with Dr Herms is composed by the lecturer of the Department of Applied Physics and Optics Esther Pascual, as vice-dean; the lecturers Eugeni Graugés, from the Department of Structure and Constituents of Matter, and Josep M. Solanes, from the Department of Astronomy and Meteorology, as vice-deans; and Josep Perelló, lecturer from the Department of Fundamental Physics, as secretary of the Faculty, which is affiliated with the campus of international excellence BKC.

Atilà Herms (Manresa, 1956) heads the Consolidated Research Group on Instrumentation Systems and Communications (SIC) that focuses its research activity on designing electronic systems for the measure, instrumentation and transmission of information. The research group has extended its activity lines within the fields of ICT and micro and nanotechnology. Herms has led and participated in several national and European research projects, and supervised a great number of research works and theses. He has made about 70 publications in journals and books, participated in 133 congresses and obtained two patents, together with other researchers.
